Meet The Team

Joe founded the company in 1991 and has worked tirelessly to make JWS the best in the industry. He has transitioned from being a full-time technician to effectively focus on administrative tasks, however he is still involved in almost every facet of our day-to-day operation and loves to get the job done. Joe enjoys spending time with his family, a nice beach day and an occasional trip to Foxwoods.
Joan is a born organizer who enjoys coming to work and getting things done. She values the relationships she has with the people she speaks with over the phone, as well as her coworkers. Joan grew up in West Roxbury, she graduated from Mass Bay in Wellesley, and she enjoys many weekends at the beach in Hull, which shows how much she loves the Boston area. She loves spending time with her growing family, while she also likes to travel and read.
Chris is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the company and ensuring that JWS is meeting customer needs and company goals. Additional responsibilities include business development and vendor relations. Chris holds a degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management, and he is one of Joe’s three sons working with the company. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
Betty teamed up with Joe at the very beginning and has been a major part of the company since its founding. She has worked in all aspects of billing and currently helps with AP & HR functions, in addition to many other responsibilities. Betty loves spending time with her grandchildren and is a terrific cook. She may also be the biggest Red Sox fan out there!
Kim oversees the scheduling, dispatch and training for our Planned Maintenance program. Chances are if you have used our services before, you have been in contact with Kim! She loves music, Disney World, craft breweries and watching her daughter play softball.
Steve brings over 30 years of industry experience into his job as a Service Manager. His knowledge of Boston’s cities, food equipment, manufacturers and vendors allows him to excel in managing our technicians’ schedules and our clients’ needs. Steve’s patience and adaptability are key factors in his success. Steve enjoys spending time with his family and fishing during the summers, as well as an occasional ocean cruise in waters far warmer than the Boston Harbor.
John has amassed 12 years in Food & Beverage management at some of the finest resorts on the East Coast, including 5 years as managing partner of an independent full service restaurant. He most recently led an East Coast sales team overseeing the distribution of equipment and supplies to hotels and resorts from one of the largest companies in the hospitality industry. John enjoys spending time with family, travel, golf, and anything Boston sports related.
Steve joined our Parts Department in 2017 bringing with him 18 years of quality experience in the industry at the time. As our recently appointed Inside Operations Manager, Steve oversees our vehicle fleet, building upkeep and still handles a number of parts order and quotes. He spent a lot of time as a technician which has boosted both his knowledge in the functionality of food equipment and his understanding of the parts he researches. During his time as a technician, Steve performed many repairs at restaurants and businesses located on Cape Cod, a place he enjoys spending his time. He also likes fishing and spending time with his family.
Nancy is a staple of our Billing Department’s invoicing process. She ensures that each invoice is tailored to the needs of our specific accounts so we meet all of our clients’ guidelines. Besides sarcasm, Nancy enjoys sharing stories and recipes with her coworkers, and she also likes an occasional glass of wine and a good book.
Andrew works with parts orders, equipment quotations, our PM program and oversees a variety of projects within our company. He has worked with our company since 2009 and has enjoyed taking on new challenges throughout the years. Andrew is an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, while he enjoys traveling and trying new things.
Michelle brings years of experience growing our warranty services into her role as Service Administrator. In her previous position, she would submit all warranty claims and serve as a liaison for our customers and manufacturers during the warranty process. Her communication, knowledge of the industry and service relationships are key factors in helping our customers form their expectations and receive good service. She enjoys going for walks and football Sundays. Go Patriots!
Adam has been a part of the Parts Department for over 8 years. He graduated from Blue Hills Vocational Tech, and since joining our team he has continued to build upon what he learned at school to become our main resource for refrigeration parts and quotes. He also helps maintain our refrigeration inventory and serves as “the phone guy” for our technicians’ Smartphone glitches. For fun, Adam loves spending time with his kids, playing intramural softball and dabbling in video games.
Patty maintains the research and equipment summaries included in our PM Program, which consists of part research, account history and pricing updates, and she sends the books out as well. Patty likes the busy atmosphere of Joe Warren & Sons as well as her coworkers. She enjoys entertaining friends and family, in addition to weekends of camping and boating in the summer.
Stephanie schedules and dispatches technicians and works with our customers every day over the phone and through email to help guide them through each step of the service process. She takes the lead in obtaining flame permits, answering the phone, sending quotes and works on a variety of other inner-office objectives to help keep things moving. She really likes hockey, hiking and camping.
Mike has been a member of the Parts Department since graduating from UMASS Amherst in 2008. When processing parts orders and quotes, Mike knows where to find the best deals and prides himself on saving our customers money. He is an avid sports fan, his two favorites being football and hockey, and he worked as a hawker at Red Sox games for some time. Murph is also interested in history.
Garrett started as a technician at the family business and has thrived in his role as a technician. He has taken on additional responsibility whenever possible and is an integral part in the onboarding and training of our technicians so we can better serve the needs of our customers. Garrett enjoys watching sports and spending time with his wife and kids.
Kim has spent several years processing Accounts Payable for Joe Warren & Sons and works with our billing team on a daily basis. She has transitioned into our Warranty billing department to help the company process our many warranty invoices. In her role, Kim maintains relationships with the various manufacturers that we represent as an authorized service agent and she advocates for our customers as well. When she isn’t at work, she’s surrounded by her family of hockey enthusiasts and attends her sons’ many games.
Brian has joined Joe Warren & Sons with very relevant experience pulled from a career in multiple fields, including the sales of new refrigeration and cooking equipment, distribution of parts, shipping logistics, and repair dispatch for residential appliances. He spends his time providing research for our Planned Maintenance program, ordering parts and providing quotes to our customers whom he enjoys getting to know. Brian enjoys spending time with friends and family, in addition to weekends at the barn with his horses Heathrow and Gwendylyn.
Anne has over 12 years’ worth of experience in the service industry with her last 6 focused in coordinating repairs and installation of commercial refrigeration and beverage systems. Her knowledge of the equipment that we service and of the distinctive regulatory guidelines within our customer network allows her to fit in seamlessly with our Service Department. Anne enjoys snowboarding with her children and spending time with her family.
As our Parts & Quotes representative in the New Hampshire branch, Chuck maintains the branch’s part inventory in addition to fulfilling orders and sending quotes for work to be performed. Chuck has a background in various service/support roles, with a proven track record of increasing customer satisfaction through open and continuous communication and service delivery. Chuck’s experience includes ‘wearing several hats’ at former employers such as an industrial roofing company and a metal fabrication equipment distributor which has helped him acclimate to our industry with unique perspective.
Bob is an ambitious member of our parts department who has prior experience in repairing residential appliances as a service technician. He is our shipper and receiver for inbound packages and equipment and helps maintain our warehouse and inventory. Bob enjoys music and its history as well as fantasy football. Until recently he had co-hosted a weekly Saturday night radio show on 95.9 which featured golden oldies music and quick whit.
Steve Zitter is primarily responsible for overseeing the day to day finance and administrative functions of JWS, including financial reporting, treasury, payroll, and general accounting. Additional responsibilities include providing strategic guidance through analytics in setting financial and operational goals. Steve has over 25 years of professional accounting experience, including 15 years in leadership roles. In his spare time Steve enjoys spending time with his family and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Patty Donovan is an integral part of our Billing Department as an Accounts Receivable Associate. She loves working in a busy environment and is extremely organized. Patty loves going for walks and collecting shells on the beach in her spare time. Patty’s favorite thing of all is spending time with her growing family.
Fred has spent over 30 years in the industry as a service technician and as a parts specialist. Fred combines his knowledge of the food industry from a technician’s standpoint with his ability to identify parts and source them. He owned a bar in Dorchester with his brother for many years which allowed him to see the service industry from another valuable perspective. He doesn’t lose at horseshoes often. Fred has been invaluable member of our team over the years and we wish him an enjoyable retirement!
